Austin Peay State University, Lee University

Gary served in the Air Force as a Sargent from 1967-1971. He served one year in Vietnam as an Air Traffic Controller and was with NORAD and Tactical Air Command in the continental United States. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force and joined the U.S. Army Advanced ROTC program at Austin Peay State University where he was commissioned RA in 1974 and was assigned to Air Armor (pre-flight training). He was honorably discharged when his first wife, a Captain in the Army Nurse Corp, died in 1974. Gary had a daughter 5 ½ months old and deemed it an impossible task to raise a daughter properly and complete flight training so he applied for and was given an Honorable Hardship Discharge to enable him to raise his daughter. At that time, he returned to Cleveland, TN, his hometown and felt that he was called to Christian Ministry. He enrolled at Lee University where he began studying for the ministry. While in school, he began evangelizing periodically on weekends. In 1977, Gary decided to enter the ministry full time. He took at small congregation of 13 people in London, KY, that worshipped at 2:00pm on Sundays in an Assembly of God Church until they began construction of their own facility in 1979. The new facility was completed in 1980 grew to 100+ in 1981. The church has now grown to approximately 250 in attendance with a new larger worship facility.

After leaving London, Gary continued to minister through evangelism but in 1983 turned in a different direction. He worked for Moore Business Forms for 9 years where he won numerous sales awards including Sales Person of the year out of a population of 375 sales people. In 1992, Gary decided to start his own company providing Marketing, Communications and Advertising services working with companies such as Days Inns of America, Contel Communications, MCI, and AT&T. In 1994, Gary began working with Episcopal Renewal Ministries which was eventually renamed Acts 29 Ministries. He worked with Fr. Charles Fulton as a consultant in their marketing and fundraising efforts. He also worked with them in the development of print communications as well as "YouthQuake", an annual youth event that grew from approximately 250 youth to over 1,500. The Acts 29 Magazine received more than 40 awards in areas ranging from content and design to photography and layout.

In 2006, Gary was awarded the exclusive contract to develop the career of a young horse trainer in Missouri. Gary worked to develop a completely new brand identity as
well as product lines. He was instrumental in codifying and simplifying his training system. In 2007, Gary developed the concept for an equestrian television show and in
2007 presented to RFD-TV Network and the show began airing in January 2008. Gary was the director/executive producer and scripted all of the TV shows. In April of 2009,
the TV show was rated number one in the Nielsen Ratings for all equine shows.

In 2010, Gary and his wife Karen began attending St. Jude's Church in Marietta, Georgia. At the urging of Fr. Charles Fulton, he considered and subsequently accepted
an opportunity to become a Deacon in the Anglican Church of the Americas. Karen, Gary's wife, is as important to his Deaconate efforts as anything he does. Gary says
that he and Karen have, in all things, been and remain a team.

Gary Alan Jordan was ordained a Deacon by Archbishop Michael B. Simmons on July 23, 2016, on the Feast Day of St. Bridget of Sweden. Gary will serve as a member of
